Blog 1.1

1. Boehner would rather leave now than have to go through more stress for a job that hasn't helped him in any way.
2. The powerful members of the Republican side of the house will select someone they deem to be a good replacement.
3. He failed to use the new majorities to pass any new legislation.
4. Conservatives are threatening to shut down the government unless planned parenthood stops recieving federal money.
5. They made threats, but they did not have enough momentum to actually do anything.
6. He believes they want to employ tactics that are too extreme, which will cost them support.
7. Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican. He will not be any more or less successful, as the author points out, he faces many of the same challenges that Boehner did.
